Cabo San Lucas hotels & places to stay

We loved our time at Playa Grande- everything exceeded our expectations! The location is perfect- right on the beach and an easy walk to town. The service, food and accommodations were all outstanding- even though they were near 100% occupancy it did not feel crowded. The gym is state of the art and the Kids Club was a big hit with our children- they said it was a lot more fun than anything they did on a Disney Cruise, which they felt was to babyish for them. Mayra who runs it is so warm and kind- the kids just loved her!

Me cabo is a loud party hotel. We arrived on Saturday and were very tired from being on air and transportation from SJC to CSL. Don't expect to have a peaceful night if you arrive during the weekends (Thursday-Sunday). Loud music will be played until 2am. During the weekdays music play until midnight I believe. Me cabo is very close to town of cabo San Lucas. If you don't mind local foods, there are tons of good restaurants in town walking distance from me cabo. Not only it's walking distance to restaurants but sport activity excursions too! **major plus for us** no comments on their food, bars, and spa. We took advantage of cheap food and alcohol in town. We got offer 50% off spa and car rental elsewhere and decided to use their service. Overall, this is a good hotel if you don't mind really loud music at night during weekends.

We would recommend Club Cascadas de Baja, but not Agoda. The hotel did not have our reservation when we arrived to check in, even though we had booked >1 month ago. We got a room that had no view other than a wall a few feet away, probably the worst in the hotel. There are much nicer rooms. The food at the restaurant was average at best, and the margaritas were among the worst we have ever had. Enjoy the beach and the pools and go elsewhere to eat as we did. The beach is swimmable, but it is steep and a bit intimidating to non-swimmers like my wife.

Great bang for the buck! Nestled in between the rows of 5 star resorts the facilities are a tiny bit older but still very luxurious. Second to last resort before the beach ends and you can take a quick hike to lovers beach over the rocks and snorkel (get cheap gear in town) in one of the best snorkel spots in Cabo without paying for it. Walking distance from town or an $8 taxi ride in. Get tacos at Gus’s and omega. Also scuba spot against the rocks in front of beach club. Will stay again!

I stayed here for a week and loved the super friendly and helpful staff plus the spacious room. There's a little gym if you're into working out and the guest laundry is very practical. There's many restaurants and stores just downstairs or around the corner and since Cabo isn't that big everything is within walking distance. I would stay here again anytime. Thanks guys for making my stay awesome!

The hotel is just a 5-10 minutes walk away from the center which is actually really nice since you don't get any of the nightlife noise you'll constantly have in the center. I had a room in the newer part of the hotel which was quite spacious and very clean. Make sure you check out Tacos Gardenias which is located in a side street off the main road only 5 minutes from the hotel and was the best place I ate at during my one week stay. I can fully recommend staying here.

The staff went out of their way to welcome and accommodate. There were a lot of extra charges ($5USD /day for drinking water access (even for premier hotel members) + ~20% additional tax over published rates. Location does not have Ocean swimming beach (Viewing only, undercurrent).. Facility was OK, but transportation was necessary due to remote location. Staff great, Hotel policies not great. Food OK; (5+ choices) $30+ USD per person

The staff bungled my hotel bill (twice!) and failed to respond professionally. It's a nice hotel with a lot of potential, but their staff needs professional training. I mean, what kind of hotel mistakenly runs your credit card for somebody else's room?!? Or forgets to charge you for the entire price of the room? Just unprofessional, which is a shame, because they're really nice people but just seemed to be not really trained in "hospitality". Don't get me wrong, the staff is very friendly and good people, but they just don't seem to have an idea of how to understand what guests need or the proper behavior for interacting with people who are on vacation. I think with some professional training (or maybe some more experienced professionals) it would be vastly improved. Beyond that, the bedding was comfortable, the ambiance is great and the location is decent. Only other major complaint would be the shower. Oh my god, it has the WORST nozzle ever, I got more water from the sink then I die from that nozzle! Finally I figured out on the third day that there's a normal shower on the top floor where I could actually wash myself, so I just used that: but seriously, I get the whole conserve water thing but this was a little extreme! Ok ok ... One more thing, I love the paintings but having a "patch Adams" mural over your bed is a little creepy. Not only is he a clown, which could freak some people out, but Robin Williams also killed himself last year, not really the kind of thing you want looking down on you while sleeping. I think that's kind of symbolic of my entire visit there...it's a good effort with the right intentions, but there doesn't seem to be a real awareness of what guests might actually need/want. I'll end on a positive note, the cleaning staff was great, they were quite thorough.

The hotel is actually very comfortable. The room was clean, well-equipped and of good size. The bathroom was quite nice as well. We also had a far but good enough view of the arch. The problem was the location, it is not walking distance to the marina and the beaches. You have to take a bus, which you need to cross a busy highway, can be quite dangerous. But you will get used to that on the 2nd day. I like the free use of the gym which was really nice and well managed. This is a great hotel for its price if you don't mind the commute everyday.

The hotel informed us once we arrived that they overbooked. We didn’t get a king bed like we paid for. They gave us two full sized beds and married them together in a room adjoining some strangers private suite. The hotel never locked the door to the adjoining room giving the other party access to our room and belongings although we asked daily for three days. The showers had uneven water pressure and also went hot to cold every few minutes. The food and drink bills had food totals in Mexican pesos and right below it tip totals in U.S. dollars which trick people into tipping up to several hundred dollars on $10 tabs.

It is a huge hotel with good buffet breakfast and helpful staff. It is beautiful and clean but to get to your room can sometimes be challenging. I don't know who is the architect is but I will never get him to design my house. Also be careful booking rooms located in mezzanine, there are flight of stairs involved getting to your room, so if you have lots of bags (for example if you have dive gear and camera), it is not very easy. Anyway, ask staff. They are nice. I would recommend this hotel to m y friends who are diving with Nautilus Liveaboards coz they have an office on site.

We attended a wedding at Sunset Pueblo Bonito and stayed there for 3 nights. We stayed in a junior suite. The only complaints we have is that for a luxury hotel we expected more amenities in the room. For example, there should have been bath robes, more towels, coffee for the coffee maker and waters. Also the golf cart situation was not ideal as the resort is very hilly and with hot weather getting around in golf carts is a must. However, they didn't come often and we had to wait over 30 minutes one time. The food was decent and we had the all inclusive, not having the all inclusive would have made our stay ridiculously expensive as most of the food was overpriced a la carte. However, the location was great - really close to town but private. We would definitely return.
