I had a comfortable time in a clean room. The breakfast was very delicious, and I ended up enjoying it for as long as two hours.
ISSEI様 素晴らしいご意⾒をいただき、誠にありがとうございます。お客様のご満⾜が私たちの最優先事項です。またのご来店を⼼よりお待ちしております。 ハイアット リージェンシー 京都
First of all, the room condition was not bad. However, the service of the staff varied greatly. The front desk staff were incredibly kind, and I was thankful for that. I even brought a small gift out of gratitude. On the other hand, the older male staff member in the breakfast restaurant had a very unpleasant tone and language. I’m not sure if it was due to his lack of English skills, but his expressions and tone made it impossible to shake off a bad feeling throughout the day. I didn’t even ask him the day before; I merely inquired if it was possible, and he cheerfully said it was, but the next day he spoke as if he was making an enormous concession while saying it wouldn’t be possible next time, which was extremely upsetting. If he had properly responded when I initially asked if it was possible, saying something like “Sorry, but I think there was a mistake yesterday. The staff seems to have misunderstood,” it would have been more appropriate. If this were in Korea, I wouldn’t have let it go, but I didn’t want to ruin my trip, so I overlooked it. After returning, the unpleasant feelings grew, and I regret not asking for that staff member’s name. He was an older male staff member who had poor English pronunciation and looked Japanese. His use of language, expressions, and tone all seemed like he needed to undergo basic service training again. The second complaint started around 8 a.m. From 8 a.m. to about 11:40 a.m., there was continuously loud music playing inside the room that I did not want to hear. When I inquired at the front desk, they explained it was a fire inspection and that a notice had gone out the day before. This situation was hard to understand. I had worked late into the night and had hoped to eat breakfast early in the morning before coming back to rest, but because of the music, my child couldn’t sleep and was whining, and I also couldn’t rest, ruining my entire day's schedule. Shouldn't I have been informed about such occurrences prior to payment or during booking? If this was an unexpected situation, wouldn’t it be necessary to present an alternative and minimize inconvenience? The idea that I should just endure such a situation does not make sense to me at all. The nameless accommodation I visited before seemed to offer much friendlier and more reasonable service. I think I read about the bamboo forest walking trail in someone else's review, but it’s better not to get your hopes up. There’s just a building and a very small garden. It’s not suitable for walking. The music that incessantly played from the room in the morning was like torture; I couldn’t turn it off or lower the volume. This situation and the attitude of the male staff member in the breakfast restaurant were the worst. The service at the Japanese restaurant was satisfactory, and the food was neat, which was good. However, the worst hotel experience is likely to be remembered because of these two situations, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone around me. I would like to thank the young male staff member at the front desk on the early morning of 20250919 between 00:00-02:00. He was helpful in many ways and left me with a positive memory amidst the worst experiences.
Dear Siene, We apologize for the dissatisfaction you experienced during your recent visit. Your comments are taken seriously, and we're working diligently to address them to provide a more enjoyable experience for our guests. Kind regards, HYATT REGENCY KYOTO
I had an excellent experience during my stay in Kyoto. Admittedly it was extremely busy because of the holiday season but because of the wonderful staff, all ran smoothly .
I inquired about breakfast during check-in. When a male employee explained the details about breakfast, he did not mention that it was non-refundable and proceeded with the reservation. Due to our schedule, breakfast was not possible, and when I informed a female employee that I wanted to cancel that evening, she said it was a non-refundable item and could not be done. When I mentioned that I had not heard such information during check-in, she assured me that she would cancel it. However, the next morning during check-out, another female employee asked me to pay for the breakfast again. It was very frustrating that the cancellation from the previous day had not been communicated. I had to explain the situation again, and ultimately, the cancellation was processed, but I felt very uncomfortable throughout this entire process. I think there needs to be further training for the staff. As a customer who enjoys Hyatt, I was left disappointed with the Kyoto Hyatt.

“Amazing stay, highly recommended!”
Love love love Hyatt Regency! Very nice and friendly staffs, delicious breakfast, and very nice, modern room. We got a room with a beautiful Japanese garden view, and the room service surprised our children by tucking their plush toy animal to their bed. They were so happy. We watched the Maiko performance in the hotel as well (complimentary) and the hotel provided complimentary drinks, which is very thoughtful. There were a Christmas choir in the hotel lobby and charity program which were so nice as well. The hotel location is SUPERB! Will stay again in Hyatt Regency for sure next time we are coming back to Kyoto. Thank you for the hospitality!
