The SHOWER did not merely have low pressure, it was altogether broken when I arrived there at night! Apparently it had broken that morning, but they hadn't bothered doing anything about it. It was only on the following day that it was fixed and the water pressure was low (as reported by many here). // Very poor location: about 20 mins walk from Rizal Ave which is the main drag. Puerto Princesa has MANY equally cheap accommodation with better locations. You can easily find these when you get here (most are not listed on the internet). // Unlike previous reviewers, I saw no kitchen I could use, got no coffee in the morning, and did not see any friendly owner. The staff here were mostly hiding in their room. At night they keep the gate locked and it's not open until some staff member wakes up (which could be any time). Which is incredible because the gate is not difficult to climb over for any fit young adult. Yet on the other hand, if you have difficulty climbing over, if there's a fire, then you'd be trapped inside!

This place could be great, if it werent for some minor issues that kind of spoil your stay. Rooms are reasonably clean, with lots of space. You have a locker and curtains around the bed, which give you some privacy. WiFi is the best I've had in the Philippines so far and the staff was friendly and helpful when I needed to book tours. The little treats in the bathrooms - soap, cotton buds, tooth paste, shampoo - were really nice, but none of these compensate for the lack of a working shower (it is there, but just a few drops will come out, so you have to use a bucket). Location is also an issue. The 20 min walk to restaurants and shops is not much, but you can't do it often - not under the Puerto Princesa sun - so you are a bit isolated. And last but not least, staff behaved very unprofessionally sometimes. They would stay up very late, laughing and listening to loud music right in front of my door. Maybe because of that, it would take them a lot of time to get up in the morning, which means you are locked inside. Once I had a pick up for a tour at 7:30, and it took them over 10 minutes to wake up and come open the gates, no matter how much we called and rang the bell. Overall it wasnt an unpleasent stay, but I do not reccomend this place.

The rates are very affordable and the place is very clean and cozy. Lara, the owner, is also very friendly and accommodating. I would definitely stay here again when I go back to Palawan! :)

Real local experience”

Great! Spent 2 days in Puerto Princesa and La Red's was exactly what we needed on a backpacker's budget. Friendly, helpful staff, clean rooms, and great location off the beaten path in the middle of a local neighbourhood. Easy to experience the local flare while also being close to tourist spots and restaurants. The only thing we weren't impressed with was the quality of the shower. Obviously it's hard to come by a shower in a place of this calibre that has hot water but we expected even a little water pressure. It wasn't a huge deal for us though, and we made the most of it. This place is perfect for the typical backpacker on a budget.

Great Place”

I stayed at LaRed's for 5 nights due to the comfort of the place and Lara's (the owner) hospitality. The rooms are all very clean and it's far enough away from the city center (yet walkable - 5 minutes) that it's relatively quiet. Staying here felt more like staying in someone's home rather than a guesthouse. Lara can arrange tours and van tickets to the surrounding area too. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it for anyone looking for a place just a bit off center and homely!

Good, clean place to stay in Puerto. Word of warning, make sure you have the address and ph number written down. Tricycle drivers don't seem to know where it is, perhaps it's new ish?

Best place for budget travelers”

This place was a great value for the price. They provide free towel and toiletries and can do your laundry for cheap. I stayed in the fan dorm was which clean and in good condition, and luckily got the entire room to myself since there were no other guests at the time. Lara assisted me with instructions on how to get to the Underground River independently, which I really appreciated.

This is a new establishment in Puerto Princesa - the owner Lara and her family helped me with every question that I had, and helped me with renting a motorbike as well. You really feel like a part of the family when you are staying at this place, this is by far the best place I have stayed in while I have been in the Philippines, mainly because of the people surrounding it(Travelling for two months). In addition, it has everything that a Backpacker needs, free water, wifi, coffee(one cup for breakfast) and the cheapest bed in town.

Warm greeting, comfortable, easy access to triks or ten minute walk to the Main Street with the bars, big restaurants and tour agencies, slept well, bug free and Very helpful staff. Booked the underground river tour thru them. Very simple process. They also knew bus details and provided me with maps and any info to make my life easier. Simple bathroom and fan dorm suited me just fine. Safe and secure. Stay here. Recommended. It's new so not many drivers know it's where-abouts. Have a map n say its on liberty and Mabino.

Das lareds ist gut für einen kurzen Aufenthalt für günstiges Geld. Frisches bettzeug und handtücher, Wasser kostenlos 24 h, freundliches personal, dass gerne auch kurzfristig touren organisiert. Kein gehobenerstandard, natürlich nicht, aber für das Geld absolut in Ordnung.

まだ新しいところみたいで空港から来たときはトライシクルがちょっと迷いました。場所的にちょっと外れてますが、家族的な雰囲気が良くて連泊。外れとは言ってもトライシクル（８ペソ）で動けばいいので不便は感じませんでした。

ちょっと町中から外れた場所にあり、新しいらしくトライシクルがけっこう迷いました。途中から場所を覚えて自分で指示しましたが、分かってしまえば簡単なところにあります。スタッフが人懐っこく家族的な雰囲気で楽しかったです。ドミトリーは部屋が小さくとても暑く、扇風機をつけてなんとか寝れる感じです。水がサービスで冷蔵庫が共用で使えるのはよかったです。WiFiもポケットWiFiみたいですが使えました。
