Previous review got cut short. First impressions of accommodation was that it is about 2kms from the main town. Takes 30 mins to walk to the main beach area. You need a scooter to get around the Island as the songtheows are pricey. From the pier it is 100 baht per person for only just over 1km to the accommodation. Scooter rent is higher than mainland, = 300 baht and includes petrol,. This seemed to be the general price around town . One place near the pier offered us 850baht for 3 days. We trusted the hotel owner to rent our bike from. A fellow tourist warned us about not renting from someone just a bit further up the road The Island is only about 6kms long so a full tank should last at least 4 days . Rooms were basic but generally clean. Had a bit of a musty smell. Had fridge, kettle - no coffee cups but am sure the owners would supply. Breakfast is a choice between rice and meat soup or USA style = hot dog sausage , fried egg and ham and toast. Coffee and squash drink. We enjoyed it and for what we paid we thought it was fair. In the 6 days we were there, no one else occupied the other rooms so we had the place to ourselves.

We nearly had to cancel due to I'll health but luckily the medications worked and we were able to make the long journey here. Try and get here before early p.m as we were gold the last slow boat at 17:00 might not run. Our mini bus dropped us off at the speedboat pier and they hustle you in to buy return tickets for 400 baht. They quoted 150 baht when I asked for slow boat. Behind that pier is the slow boat option = Nuan Thip Pier, cost = 120 baht. No signs but I asked. Once you arrive at Koh Samet, the return slow boat is around 60 or 70baht?

Simple, affordable place on a quite part of Koh Samet. Staff was friendly and the Thai food there was really good! Would definitely recommend for a vacation on a budget.

Etwas abgelegen vom Trubel des Zentrums. Ein tolles Restaurant mit kleinem Laden ein Stück weiter gegenüber. Wir waren hier täglich mehrmals essen. Strand sehr schön, zugänglich über Hotel direkt gegenüber. Frühstück einfach, aber ausreichend. Alles in allem empfehlenswert, wenn man nicht direkt nebenan einen 7-11 braucht ;)

ที่พักดีมากก คุ้มค่ากับเงินที่จ่าย ราคาถูกมาก น้ำไหลแรงดีมาก แอร์เย็นมาก ลุงเจ้าของที่พักคุยดีมาก มีอาหารเช้าคือข้าวต้มกับกาแฟและขนมปังปิ้งให้ แต่ที่พักนี้อยู่ไกลจากเซเว่นไปหน่อย ต้องเช่ามอเตอร์ไซค์จึงจะสะดวก ข้อเสียคือ เจอกิ้งกืออยู่ตัวนึง ตกใจมาก และมีแมลงสาบเกาะอยู่ตรงกลอนประตูด้านนอก แต่รวมๆแล้วดีนะ ถ้ามองข้ามเรื่องเจอสัตว์ไป
